Ray’s journey of becoming a physiotherapist started with his regular childhood visits to clinics and hospitals, as both his mum and older brother injured their lumbar spine (protruded discs) in accidents. His frustrations in his earlier days witnessing his loved ones struggling with staying pain-free long-term sparked his curiosity and respect for the complexity of chronic injuries.

Ray graduated from university in 2004 and has since worked in a busy practice in Castle Towers Medical, along with over 20 GPs, sport physicians, and specialists, which was also next to a busy orthopaedic day surgery centre. Ray was well exposed to sports injuries, both in individual and team sports, in the practice for 5 years before becoming the head physiotherapist for the practice. He was in charge of all complex cases of sports injury and post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation for both creational and professional athletes, before moving on to found ActiveMotion Physio in Ryde 2010.

Ray has an insatiable curiosity and extensive knowledge in diagnosing and treating chronic dysfunctions due to old injuries. He has a very holistic, unique and effective approach in addressing pain, which he describes as "unresolved traumatic experience often due to poor diagnosis, causing the body to perform non-optimally.

Ray has helped many athletes (typically golfers, rowers, ironmen and marathon runners) competing nationally and internationally, to break through the barriers of their old injuries, and return and break their personal best!
